1 - Drivers are prohibited from continuously using or handling any type of equipment or apparatus that may impair driving, such as headphones and radio-telephones, while the vehicle is in motion.

2 - The following are excepted from the preceding paragraph:

a) Devices fitted with a single earpiece or microphone with a loudspeaker system, the use of which does not involve continuous handling;

b) Devices used during driving instruction and the respective test, under the terms set out in regulations.

3 - The installation and use of any apparatus, devices or products which may reveal the presence or disrupt the functioning of instruments intended for the detection or recording of infringements is prohibited.

4 - Anyone infringing the provisions of paragraph 1 shall be punished with a fine of (euro) 250 to (euro) 1250.

5 - Any person who infringes the provisions of paragraph 3 shall be punished with a fine of (euro) 500 to (euro) 2500 and with the loss of the objects, and the inspecting officer shall immediately remove and seize them or, if this is not possible, seize the vehicle identification document until the objects have been effectively removed and seized, in which case the provisions of article 161(5) shall apply.
